  • Art is Moving isn’t just a plan to to bring art to SunRail, it is also a plan to increase numbers. Adding colorful works of art and “popup” performances to the art car adds excitement to the ride and helps build community, creating new opportunities for emerging local artists and performers.

    The project helps create an experience for riders, and buzz for non-riders with the desired result being the conversion of non-riders or one-time riders to repeat riders.

  • The movement in art and culture will also help to elevate the system’s public relations to a more urban level, converting a seemingly sterile space to that of a conversation piece. Groups of people gathered to support their favorite artists would be encouraged to ride the train and in turn promote SunRail and it’s new attraction. There is also a buzz around new limited Saturday service.

    The project has helped bring together Public/Private partnerships: private funding, FDOT regulation compliance, public art, participation from 4 counties, many non-profit arts organizations to help support a single cause.
