Faine House Birthday Celebration

“If you want to touch the past, touch a rock. If you want to touch the present, touch a flower. If you want to touch the future, touch a life.”

Last week, we were invited to an event to celebrate The Faine House and its second year of operation. For those of you who may not know, The Faine House helps at-risk youth exiting foster care transition into adulthood by providing housing, education, employment assistance, health and wellness awareness and personal finance training. The home, which was opened in 2013, can house up to 10 young people at a time – giving each resident their own room in addition to the other support provided. It was built through the generous donations of time, materials and money from dozens of companies and families in and around Central Florida.

Thursday’s event was also a chance to celebrate 11 men who have distinguished themselves by committing to making sure this program endures. These illustrious gentlemen have each pledged to donate $10,000 a year for 10 years. A $100,000 commitment. We have dubbed them, appropriately, the “FaineMakers.” Gentlemen, you have touched the future. To you, we tip our hats.
